Plot Summary[]
The episode briefly recaps Season 1.
Nora Anthony decided to go off the grid after taking a leave of absence from Horizon. She meets her dad in a self driving car and arrives at a country road outside of Tannersville Pennsylvania. There, she and her dad walk out into the forest, for more than 2 hours. Another person walks into the forest with them, and arrive in a Luddite-like settlement; everyone considers it an egalitarian paradise where technology is rejected, even telephones. There, she meets Mateo, Pastor Rob, and several others; Quickly, she integrates to the settlement. Nora stays for several weeks and gets adjusted to life there; she began educating newcomers as a guide, including the merits of an envelop and physical mail.
Back in Horizon and Lakeview, Aleesha pulls double duty with Nora’s workload while dealing with her own clients. This includes Ingrid, who supposedly uploaded. Aleesha has a testy relationship with Luke as she feels annoyed by the antics of Luke. He meets Nathan again after Ingrid pulled Nathan out of the 2 Gigabyte section of Horizon.
He adjusts his life with Ingrid, which is a testy time with her. Nathan hacks into the system to track Nora’s cell phone; The system leads to a dead end and was last detected 21 days before. Aleesha walks to her boss Lucy to complain about Ingrid; Annoyed, Lucy gives Aleesha a promotion to Junior Manager, and extra money so she can hire an intern. She hires an awkward girl named Tinsley.
Ingrid tries to organize a dinner party; this only irritates the Horizon employee dedicated to sytlist. gs better. She gets some done, and would invite a bunch of people. Later she talks to Luke’s grandmother and finds out Nathan and the grandmother had a relationship. Sitting down with Nathan to talk, she kisses him. Here she is revealed ot be in a wet suit in her bathtub and did not die; she merely is paying lots of money to Horizon in order to live a lot in the system. She gets out and orders a pizza.
Nora and Mateo have a beer together at night.
Meanwhile, an NYPD detective at the Crime Crimes unit looks over a case of a person killed in an elevator. He is suspicious it is not a cyber accident, and changes the cause of death to “possible homicide”.
